Walkoach was founded by Mark Wilkinson who left a fine career as a public servant to pursue his mission of making work better and helping people become the best they can be.  Why 'Walkoach'? Being in nature supports wellbeing and optimal thinking. It's why as a lover of the great outdoors, Mark invites clients to take learning outside the office on a walk, where possible.

Mark became a qualified performance coach in 2012 and is the former coaching lead at the Environment Agency where he developed its internal coaching practice. He has a background making things happen. This includes staging Bristol’s first ‘Our People’s Coach’ flash mob coaching event in 2014, and organising ‘Unlocking Performance through Employee Engagement’ a major conference held in Bristol in June 2019. He is passionate about employee engagement and has volunteered extensively for Engage for Success (one of the key conference partners) since 2016 as its lead ambassador for the Bristol area.


Mark's greatest strengths are training, coaching and inspiring others. He's a former leadership and management trainer for his local NHS Foundation Trust and delivered most of the one day soft skills classes of national training provider ‘Activia Training’. In February 2020 he became CIPD qualified in learning and development. On a mission to help people create the organisations they want to work in he is thrilled to be collaborating with Silke Brittain of Clear Voice Comms.


Silke Brittain is a results-driven and experienced senior executive who runs ‘Clear Voice Comms’, a communications and employee engagement consultancy. She’s over 20 years experience developing employee engagement and communication strategies that inspire people and influence behaviour change in a way that delivers sustainable business transformation.  

Silke has led global people analytics, engagement and behaviour change as part of major digital transformations for multi-national brands including Pfizer, CBRE, Johnson & Johnson, Slater & Gordon, Nielsen, Premier Inn, Dixons, Argos and BP. She leads her consulting expertise with people insight and communication audits and combines engagement and communication strategies to change the way people think, feel and behave.

Silke has developed a specialty around identifying and leveraging internal influence, combining organisational network analysis with behaviour science and best practice in change management, ‘social alignment’ and internal communication to help organisations realise effective and sustainable business change.
